How is nested JSON flattened?
Each nested key becomes a column named by its path: {"address": {"city": "Lisbon"}} gives address.city. Columns follow the order keys first appear, except that integer-like keys such as 2023 come first in each object, as JavaScript reads them. A key that contains a dot is written as meta["a.b"]. Arrays stay as JSON in one cell, or split into tags.0, tags.1.
How are commas, quotes and line breaks handled?
As RFC 4180 describes: a field that contains the delimiter, a double quote or a line break is wrapped in double quotes, and quotes inside it are doubled. Every row has the same number of fields and ends with CRLF.
Why do accents look wrong in Excel?
Microsoft says Excel opens a UTF-8 CSV normally if it was saved with a byte order mark (BOM); otherwise it has to be imported. Tick "Add BOM for Excel" before you download.
