Is this Anthropic's Claude in Chrome extension?

No. It is Browser Harness, open source from Browser Use. It gives Claude Code your Chrome with nothing to install in the browser.

How do I know which tab Claude is using?

The tab Claude controls gets a 🐴 at the start of its title. It works in the background, so the tab you are looking at stays yours.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Browser Harness is open source under MIT, and using your own Chrome is free. Cloud browsers are $0.02 per browser-hour if you want them.
